I have a lovely and royal friend in my home. Its name is Doudou. It is a good-looking dog. Its whole body is white. And its voice is so touching that it sounds like music. Doudou is my best friend. It never dislikes me or leaves me.
No matter what mood I have, it always in company with me. The most interesting thing for me is to tease it. After I finish my homework, I often play with Doudou. One day, I washed it up and dressed it well, and then I took it to the mirror. To my surprise, Dou was very interested in the mirror.
It became very active at once that time, and it waved its paws towards another dog in the mirror. Dou just wanted to pull that one out and play with it. But now, Dou didn’t know the dog in the mirror was itself yet. What a silly and lovely!

There is no denying the fact that keeping pets is a hotly debated topic today. Some people claim that keeping pets is a good thing to do. They believe that pets, like cats and dogs, can help relieve the loneliness suffered by senior citizens and other social members who are confined to their homes for this reason or that. They also argue that keeping pets helps mankind understand animals’ world and develop positive feelings toward them.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They regard keeping pets as a useless but harmful thing to do. First, pets can transmit diseases. Secondly, the noises and dung of pets are sources of pollution. Last but not least, as many rare birds and animals are kept as pets, they will surely be hunted on a large scale, which means a threat to the balance of the ecosystem.
Weighing the arguments of both sides, I am inclined to agree with the latter. Anyway, we can lessen our loneliness and express our love toward animals in other ways. And it is my belief that only by placing man and other species on an equal basis can we expect to have a lively and colorful world.

In the West,many families like to keep a pet.We may be surprised at the amount of money they pay in terms of pets’ food or medical treatment,etc.Keeping a pet,indeed,has many advantages.
I have two main reasons for my argument.First of all,pets can be good companions,which is especially important for those who live alone and the old who can not get out much.What they get from the pets is not only hours of amusement but also loyalty.Some pets can even protect the house from thieves.Secondly,taking care of a pet also helps children to be responsible and caring members of the society.A child who learns to be very sensitive to the feelings of a pet can be expected to have positive attitudes to other people and life.
However,some others would argue that pets are dirty or dangerous.But I believe it is not that pets themselves are to blame,but their owners.If the owners train their pets properly and take very good care of them,they are unlikely to get dirty or become aggressive.
To sump up,there are surely more advantages than disadvantages to keeping a pet,especially for those lonely and young.Money spent on the special food for pets or the high fees paid for pets’ medical treatment is not a waste.

Even in happy and healthy families, keeping pets brings more than just pleasure to life. Kids can learn how to love and take care of others from living together with their animal friends.
In the second place, some pets can perform a variety of services such as guarding houses, providing professional assistance and so on. As an intelligent and faithful animal, dogs have been trained to be doorkeepers since long time ago. It is reported in the newspaper that when a thief attempted to break into an empty apartment, a brave pet dog clung to his trousers and bit him in the leg. As a result, he could not help crying out of pain and was caught by the neighbors. And it is also known that some pet dogs and monkeys serve as personal assistants to disabled people. Having received some special training, they can follow simple instructions from their masters and provide faithful company to human friends.
From what has been discussed above, the benefits of keeping pets speak for themselves. In spite of the large population in China, keeping pets will not interfere with the well being of people.
