Keeping Pets
There is no denying the fact that keeping pets is a hotly debated topic today. Some people claim that keeping pets is a good thing to do. They believe that pets, like cats and dogs, can help relieve the loneliness suffered by senior citizens and other social members who are confined to their homes for this reason or that. They also argue that keeping pets helps mankind understand animals’ world and develop positive feelings toward them.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They regard keeping pets as a useless but harmful thing to do. First, pets can transmit diseases. Secondly, the noises and dung of pets are sources of pollution. Last but not least, as many rare birds and animals are kept as pets, they will surely be hunted on a large scale, which means a threat to the balance of the ecosystem.
Weighing the arguments of both sides, I am inclined to agree with the latter. Anyway, we can lessen our loneliness and express our love toward animals in other ways. And it is my belief that only by placing man and other species on an equal basis can we expect to have a lively and colorful world.

I like my pet very much. Do you know why ? Because it isn’t any trouble. It is one of the important resons.
I called it LuLu. I think LuLu is a good name. It is always very quiet. In fact, it is a goldfish. My pet looks like an egg. Is it interesting? It doesn’t need a bed or a basket. It just needs some water. It never bark or miaow. Just bubble, bubble, bubble. When it hungry, it will swim quickly. Do you want to have it?
I never put my goldfish in the sun. It doesn’t like swim in the sun. It eats little food so I don’t need to feed it much. It likes eating peas ,I think. When I put some peas into the water, it always swims happier than usual.
My goldfish is my very best friend. When I am not happy or angry, it opens its eyes wide and looks at me. Then I feel happy. Is it amazing? I’ll look after him until the end. Oh, I have to feed it now, bye!

In, the phenomenon of the empty nest old can easily be found anywhere in our daily life. In the case, I think keeping a pet could remove their loneliness, even though at their children's absence.
Advantages and disadvantages of keeping pets
In the West,many families like to keep a pet.We may be surprised at the amount of money they pay in terms of pets’ food or medical treatment,etc.Keeping a pet,indeed,has many advantages.
I have two main reasons for my argument.First of all,pets can be good companions,which is especially important for those who live alone and the old who can not get out much.What they get from the pets is not only hours of amusement but also loyalty.Some pets can even protect the house from thieves.Secondly,taking care of a pet also helps children to be responsible and caring members of the society.A child who learns to be very sensitive to the feelings of a pet can be expected to have positive attitudes to other people and life.
However,some others would argue that pets are dirty or dangerous.But I believe it is not that pets themselves are to blame,but their owners.If the owners train their pets properly and take very good care of them,they are unlikely to get dirty or become aggressive.
To sump up,there are surely more advantages than disadvantages to keeping a pet,especially for those lonely and young.Money spent on the special food for pets or the high fees paid for pets’ medical treatment is not a waste.

When I was a child, I raised a pet, named Lucky. Actually he is a cat. His fur is soft with yellow and white color. Lucky is a good boy. He always behaves well. I remember when my uncle took him back to my home at first, I was afraid of him. But soon I found him is very interesting. I started to play with him. As time goes, we like each other very much. And then my uncle gave him to me. I was so happy. Now he always lies beside me quietly, when I’m doing my homework. As winter comes, he will sleep with me. sometimes he will dance for me, which is very funny and sometimes his hands are wet would leave many “plum flower” on the ground. He is so lovely.
在我還是個孩子的時候，就養了一只叫做幸運的寵物。其實他是一只貓。他的毛很柔軟，是黃色和白色。幸運的是一個好男孩。他總是很聽話。 我記得當我叔叔帶他來到我家的時候，我很怕他。但不久后，我發現他很有趣。我開始和他玩。隨著時間的.推移，我們都互相非常喜歡對方。之后我叔叔就把他送給了我。我是如此的高興。現在他總是在我做家庭作業的時候悄悄地躺在我的身邊。冬天來了，他會跟我一起睡。有時他會為我跳舞，那是非常有趣的，有時他的爪子濕了就會在地面上留下許多“梅花”。 他很可愛。
