April Fools' Day is a day to play jokes on others, No one knows how this holiday began but people think it first started in France. In the 16 th century, people celebrated New Year's Day from March 25 to April 1. In the mid—1560s King Charles IX changed it from March 25 to January 1. But some people still celebrated in on April 1, so others called them April Fools.
Each country celebrates April Fools' Day differently. In France,
people call the April Fools “April Fish”. They tape a paper fish to their friends' backs to fool them. When he or she finds this , they shout “April Fish!”
In England, people play jokes only in the morning. You are a
“noodle” if someone fools you. In Scotland, April Fools' Day is 48 hours long. They call an April Fool “April Gowk”. Gowk is another name for a cuckoo bird.
In the America, people play small jokes on their friends and any other people on the first of Aprol. They may point down to your shoe and say, “ Your shoelace is untied.” If you believe them and look down to see, you are an April Fool then.

我們班來了個“大家伙 “耳聽為虛，眼見為實！”瞧，那不就是我們班新來的“大家伙”——等離子多媒體嗎？它可是我們老師上課的好幫手哦！ 一個銀灰色的多功能講臺，里面竟然安裝著一臺電腦，真是神奇，一個正方形的中央控制器嵌在桌面中間，拉開多功能講臺左面的拉手，里面竟然藏著一個白色的實物展示臺，別提多奇怪了！這套多媒體的顯示器是一個高50厘米，寬45厘米的49寸的.等離子電視，一個黑得發亮的外殼外面還套著一個水晶似的履膜框，真是氣派！ 它不但外觀精致，內部構造新穎，還挺實用，大大提高了我們上課的效率。記得有一次學一篇課文《圓明園的毀滅》，我無論如何也想象不出圓明園被毀滅之前是怎么樣的，所以覺得這篇課文也沒什么意思。誰知上課時裘老師神秘地打開了它，不一會兒，大屏幕上竟然出現了一幅幅美麗的畫面：有金碧輝煌的殿堂、玲瓏剔透的亭臺樓閣、富麗堂皇的宮廷、仙境般的蓬萊瑤臺同學們看得一次又一次地張大了嘴巴！當然學課文也變得津津有味，甚至到了下課還意猶未盡呢！本來

Prospective students can get a taste of campus life during the summer months by spending a day or evening at Penn State New Kensington.
During the Spend a Summer Day and Spend a Summer Evening events in June, July, and August, participants can meet staff and current students, and find out all they need to know about admissions, financial aid and student life. Opportunities to tour the campus are available and a free lunch and entertainment are provided.
The first Spend a Summer Day program is a weekend event slated from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. Adult learners who can't make it during the day due to work commitments may spend a summer evening on campus from 6:30-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30. The final Spend a Summer Day is a weekday event, set from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6.

Recently I spent over three hours looking, reading and enjoying the exhibits at the National Palace Museum located in the suburbs. Many local and foreign visitors go there daily to take pictures outside and spend endless hours inside.
No cameras are allowed inside, but you can buy you can buy colored slides of the exhibits in the gift shop downstairs. There is a very large collection of beautiful jades.
Also, there is an ancient bronze vessel exhibit. Some of the exhibits are changed regularly for special collections such as porcelain and silk paintings.
My attention was mainly in the room with the wall-size slide show describing some archeological discoveries from pre-history tine. Also, the oracle bones' exhibit was very good; there seemed to be an endless amount of rare, beautiful, interesting, and fascinating things.
