Guetting a Job
①One day shortly after I had come from school, my father was outside doing yard work.
一天，我剛從學(xué)校回到家里，父親正在院子里做活。
②He found a baby bird under a tree and guessed it had fallen from its nest. He wanted to retrun the little bird to his home.
父親發(fā)現(xiàn)樹(shù)下有一只雛鳥(niǎo)，猜想可能是窩里掉下來(lái)的，他想把這小鳥(niǎo)送回窩里去。
③My dad went to get a ladder and when he got back, he found another baby bird on the ground.
父親便去搬梯子，可是梯子搬來(lái)時(shí)，他發(fā)現(xiàn)地上又多了一只雛鳥(niǎo)。
④Suddenly he heard a lound chirping（唧唧叫聲）from above. Looking up, my father saw the mother bird giuing a third baby the boot from his nest.
突然父親聽(tīng)到樹(shù)上有大聲的唧唧聲。父親抬起頭一看，看見(jiàn)母鳥(niǎo)正在把第三只雛鳥(niǎo)往巢外踢。
⑤With that, Dad walked into our house, took one look at me watching television and barked:“Get a job!”
看到這些，父親走進(jìn)屋，看了一眼正在看電視的我，大聲喊叫：“找個(gè)工作去！”
See With One Eye
Teacher: Boys and girls, there is a new film in our school cinema. If you want to see it, please hand in twenty cents for one ticket.
Tom: But I have only got ten cents. Will you let me have a ticket if I promise to see the film with only one eye?
用一只眼看
老師：同學(xué)們，我們的學(xué)校電影院將上演一部新電影。如果你們想看，交20美分買一張票。
湯姆：但是我只有10美分，假如我保證用一只眼睛看電影，你能給我一張票嗎？
A Wonderful Dream
Ted: Tom, I had a wonderful dream last night. I got full marks for physics. Do you know what it means?
Tom: Yes, it means you study very hard in dream.

The Head of the Animals
Teacher: Do you know who is the head of the animals, Jim?
Jim: Yes, I do. Its Toms father.
Teacher: Toms father? Why?
Jim: Because Toms father is the manager of the zoo.

Teacher: Is your birthday on June the 12th, Tom?
Tom: Yes, sir.
Teacher: Which year?
Tome: Oh, every year, sir.
生日
老師：湯姆，你的生日是6月12日嗎？
湯姆：是的，先生。
老師：哪一年？
湯姆：噢，年年如此，先生。
